Comment watch v2.0

written by ekg

Yes, it’s another look at the comment section from random websites and news stories. You might remember some of them from Comment Watch I..

-Sure sounds like we are going to experience a re run of Germany in the 1930s. Either we get rid of the Democrats in November, otherwise you might want to find a different country to live in!

-The death panels are here. My parents worked 50 years, always paid their taxes, never accepted a penny of public assistance. Since Obamacare they have been denied medical care. I read the government form letter. This is genocide and we are all accomplices standing idly by as people are allowed to perish. We are no better than the Germans who allowed so many to be erased from this world. It is that serious. When we awake it will be from the guilt and shame we all share

-This is how it starts.
It’s as if Hitler himself was in charge.

It just warms the cockles of my heart to see such.. uh, patriotism? Bi-Partisan yearnings? Anti-hate speech? Sure, ok. It is what it is…  Anger, mistrust, adolescences, hate, and ignorance. So you might ask, why in the hell am I highlighting it? Well, because.. because the color of our President wasn’t the only thing that change that wintry November day 2 years ago. It’s the lesser known ‘change’ that was more damaging than the erroneously perceived damage from this White House and that was  the day the Right found the internet. It was the day they figured out that they could ‘comment’ on a news story and since then… the ‘net’ has been bombarded with their drool.

Look, try as  they might.. it just hasn’t been the pristine ‘ground roots’ movement untouched by ‘politicians’ or ‘lobbyists’ that caused this vitriol. It didn’t just spring up on it’s own like the Right pretends.  It was actually the infamous Andrew Breitbart who ‘birthed’ all these joyous comments and the direction they took. When telling the world about his delusions and paranoia of Liberals and President Obama he said

Political leftists play for keeps. They are willing to lie, perform deceptive acts in a coordinated fashion and do so in a wicked way – all in the pursuit of victory.

and he told the loyal brethren that for the Left…

The ends justify the means..

Now of course, the ‘right’ doesn’t employ these tactics. Why not you ask? Well, let’s look to the great sage Andrew and see..

The right, for the most part, embraces basic Judeo-Christian ideals and would not promote nor defend the propaganda techniques that were perfected in godless communist and socialist regimes.

See, the Right, the Conservative, they are just good Christian people who do not promote or defend propaganda because to do so is to engage in godlessness. So what are they to do to fight the Great Satan Obama and his hell-hounds known as the ‘Liberals’ or ‘Democrats’? How are they going to fight the godless socialists, communists?  Does he want to fight them with God-fearing truth? Does he want to implement a Jesus-love your neighbor-style of attack? Does he hope to build a coalition of the Right, the Moral, the Just?

Nahhh… he wants to “lie, perform deceptive acts in a coordinated fashion and spread disinformation” Because you see, the ends justify the means. To him, Liberals “won the American presidency by breaking the rules of fair play.” To him “It is time to fight back, but it won’t be easy.” To him, if they want to win they must throw away their God and lie with the devils, they must “learn from its conquerors and employ similar tactics” .. and thus was born..

-The best example of a true “Racist” is Barack Obama, a/k/a/ Barry Soetoro. His wife is also a huge racist. Read the book: “OBAMA – INELIGIBLE TO SERVE – LIES, CRIMES AND DEADLY AMBITION” for the facts about Obama’s past, his family’s true origins, his racist politics, etc. It also details ALL the LEGAL FACTS that will ultimately remove Obama from office! Amazon has it – also Alibris, etc

-This guy is a redistributionist of wealth. He will ration your health care. Death panels are coming. Thanks Comrades for destroying America…

-When will the idiots that fell and voted for Obama realize that he hates our country and is trying to ruin it?He’s ruined the best health care system in the world, he’s fired the head of GM to show “he won” and has no business being president. This man has done nothing good for this country, it’s clear he hates the USA.

-Obama is KILLING this country.

-Of course he was a pure Marxist in 1980. He was a Marxist in 2008, and he is one in 2010.It is well known among conservatives and Constitutionalists that our President had the full, enthusiastic and public support of the Communist Party USA in 2008

You get the drift. “He’s calling for Death panels to kill conservatives!”  “He hates this country!” Blah-blah-blah… he’s a Marxists, and Communists and a socialist who was sent here to eat the constitution and shit out socialism where all conservatives are turned into Soylent Green wafers.

It started off as comic-relief reading the musing of the insane, but then it turned into a kind of ‘terror’ when they started to grow in numbers and actually started infecting more and more of the ‘every day comment’ sections of any and all websites. After the ‘terror’ it turned surreal. But most of all, it was just plain addicting to look at. So today when I clicked a story on cnn.com with the headline that is sure to draw those uh… god-fearing conservatives..

Obama is anti-business, Forbes and Zuckerman say

I was shocked at the comments I found. I mean it, shocked! After 2 years of reading about the Kenyan who wasn’t our real president, who should be feared because he’s the anti-Christ, who is not just a socialist, but a Marxist and he’s racist to boot. I was floored when I got to the comments section of that article

-Little Stevie Forbes with his failed Presidential bids and telling us how we should think while he lives in his multi million dollar homes and could care less about business or the American People – only that his millions won’t get a ‘fair’ tax. What a slob.

-Forbes said it was unfair of Obama to take the excesses of some on Wall Street and punish all of them for it. But apparently it is perfectly alright for the excesses of some on Wall Street to devaste the economy of the entire country and cause of millions of people to lose their jobs, their savings, and their homes.
Regulations are not punishment. They are there only to prevent excess and abuse.

-If the President is anti-business. Then Businesses are against the American people.

Whoooaa! What? Where are my “Hate OBama!” comments? My  “See, we told you he was Satan! and he hates capitalism!” Maybe if I scroll down?

-If this is Socialism,we will take it over Corporate Fascism anyday.

-…former Republican presidential hopeful…

And you would expect something constructive to be said by this guy?

-That was incredibly disingenuous, Mr. Forbes, after what Wall Street just handed America.
My taxes did not go down during the Bush years, and my pay never got raised, my bills went up and my employment choices went down.
My retirement fund was gutted.
How are YOUR finances looking Mr. Forbes?
Pretty darn good, I’d guess
.

I am.. speechless.

Ok, not really speechless.. if that was true the blog would be over, but I am floored. I didn’t just pick those comments out of a pile of comments by the uh, god-fearing ones.. those are  in consecutive order and it’s not just that story, which should have brought all a massive influx of crazy, it’s quite a few of them. What is going on? Breitbart created the ‘right-wing fanatics’ invasion of the web a month after this President was inaugurated and they have been hitting the comments section like a zombies searching for more brains and the Left just seemed to acquiesce to them. Could it be that Breitbart’s “Sherrod” fiction was final straw? The final piece of lying filth that the Left needed to take back the internet?

Could this be a sign of the re-awaken of the Left? The fact that it’s now proven beyond a shadow of doubt that the Right will make it up, will distort it, will edit and photo-shop it and when caught red handed, will blame it on the President for believing they had some kind of integrity?

Maybe, maybe the Left has finally taken enough and are finally ready to say so. Maybe they are finally ready to remind everyone of the realities of the Bush administration and the abuse of deregulation instead of allowing the fairy-tale of prosperity under Bush to continue. Maybe they finally feel their voices can out shout the rambling delusions of the insane. The first 35 comments on the Forbes story seem to say “Yes we can!” Maybe it’s finally time for the Left to remind everyone where we were and where will we go back if we allow the Right to spin their falsehoods unchallenged ….

or maybe the God-Fearing are still in church and haven’t had time to drown out the voices of the Godless.

Either way, I didn’t get my “lies, hate, and delusion’ ‘fix’ today so I will look again tomorrow…

[ Re:Fox News]Any station that reports ALL the news is not a “news station” to the apologists on the left fringe. How about some news coverage of the Mexican thugs who have taken over the ranches in Loredo, TX? The so called “news stations” at CBS, NBC, ABC and CNN are strangely quiet.

Mexican thugs  have taken over the ranches in Loredo, TX? Ok, I looked.. and the Laredo Times says, nope.. nothing happening here…

Hmmm… so much for the rumor mill, but the way the scumbag Marxist NWO teleprompter-reading jackass in the White House is protecting the borders it’s a wonder that Los Zetas aren’t running the entire Beltway corruption machine by now.

Maybe I won’t have wait for my fix after all..

Cut government spending.. just not my Social security.. or my Medicare.. and my taxes are fair so.. Wait, what was the question?

written by ekg

A new poll on just who are Tea Party members has me perplexed. I simply cannot wrap my head around some of its findings.  Ok, so they are older, whiter and more educated  making them more ‘exclusive’  than average and yet, they mock this ‘class’ as being.. bad, evil or…  liberal? A majority also feel that their taxes are  pretty fair, yet their given name congers up the idea of a movement that is upset by their extreme taxes?

They are against large government and government spending  but the majority have a favorable opinion of George Bush? Given that Bush created one of the largest government spending entitlements in history and his push to make government above the Constitution when it comes to personal rights,  this is paradoxical until you look into the poll a little more. They are overwhelmingly satisfied with Medicare and Social Security and find them worth the cost. What they don’t like is ‘welfare’. Ya know, that other government spending for ‘those’ people. They feel that this President is trying to help the poor rather than the rich.

When asked what they are angry about the most, three of the most common answers are

  • the recent health care overhaul,
  • government spending
  • and a feeling that their opinions are not represented in Washington

So let me get this straight. They want government entitlements like Social Security for them, but they don’t want unemployment benefits and ‘welfare’ to others. They want government stability  for their government health care and favor the president who increased  these benefits, but they are dissatisfied with the president who increases those same benefits for the entire country. They watched an uncontested, democratically elected President follow the platform that elected him with a 53% majority and yet they feel  they are the ones who should be listened to in Washington, not those other people who won the election.

I finally get it. I’ve always figured it was this, but could just never prove it, but now.. by their own words there it is. I said it before, this is ‘class’ issue. These people are the elitists who are jealous that someone else is finally going to get something that they have.  It’s a status thing, it’s a ‘new fur coat’  that now that everyone has access to one.. well that’s just horrible and Un-American. This poll explains the ‘literacy test’ they cheer for, and the need to weed one those not in their circles with extreme pricing at their conventions

“He’s a socialist. And to tell you the truth,

I think he’s a Muslim and trying to head us in that direction,

I don’t care what he says.

He’s been in office over a year and can’t find a church to go to.

That doesn’t say much for him.”

They consider their personal finances to be ‘very good’ and “nearly three-quarters of those who favor smaller government said they would prefer it even if it meant spending on domestic programs would be cut.” As long as those cuts don’t come in the form of lowering their Medicare and Social Security programs, even  though those two programs left unchecked will suck the country dry.

The snobbery this conjures up is breathtaking. All for them, less for the rest. Give us what we want, but to hell with the rest of you.  Don’t touch my Medicare and Social security but you get your welfare from the free market instead of the government. Holy shit, these are educated people? Give us a President like Bush who increased our benefits, paid off our Wall Street, saved our pensions and lowered our taxes at a cost to the deficit.. but get rid of the guy who is trying to even the playing field out just a little for 95% of the rest of the country.  The elitism and outright “I’m better than you so I deserve it more” is utterly amazing!

It does explain how the Tea-Party organizers can charge $549 just for the ticket to get into  the convention hall ( travel and hotel expenses not included) though.

One would question their education when they say they deserve social security and medicare because they paid into it. Especially since the rest of us know it doesn’t work like that, when these people paid into it they were paying for those who are on the system then, just like we’re paying for all these tea-party people now. Too bad they want to ensure we don’t get what we ‘deserve’ when it’s time because we paid into it now to keep them in luxury and they refuse to allow anyone to fix what could extend benefits for more and for longer.

Shockingly, 6 out of 10 feel America’s best days are behind us. Where is Sean Hannity condemning these people for not thinking their country is the best one in the world? Where is Sarah Palin eviscerating these people and telling them that unlike them, the “real America” knows how great this country is? Oh yeah, they’re both being paid to speak for the Tea-Party. $100,000 for Sarah for her speeches.. who knows with Hannity, the only thing we do know is his tea-party event was shut down by Fox Management when they found out someone was charging people to come to Hannity’s live broadcast and then turning that money over to a political movement. (Btw, what do you think would happen if Brian Williams wrote a politically partsian book and pimped it on the Nightly News every night and then went to DNC rallies to sell his book and give extremely partisan speeches to the crowds?–Yeah, he’d be fired and all credibility revoked. )

There is atleast hope, one woman finally saw the idiocy in what she was supporting and had a change of heart.

“That’s a conundrum, isn’t it?” asked Jodine White, 62, of Rocklin, Calif. “I don’t know what to say. Maybe I don’t want smaller government. I guess I want smaller government and my Social Security.” She added, “I didn’t look at it from the perspective of losing things I need. I think I’ve changed my mind.”

If you mean the original Tea Party and followers were trying to get away from the aristocracy who felt they deserved what they were getting and the rest didn’t, and here the new Tea-Party believes they are the aristocracy who are entitled to what they have while others are not, then Yes Mrs. White.. it is a conundrum. Not too mention lunacy.

When it comes to ‘them’ they are happy with the way things are. When it comes to those others getting a leg up, at no cost to themselves mind you, they are against it. They want to cut government, just not the government that benefits them. Elitists much people?

They really will stop at nothing..

written by ekg

After reading Fox News version of Natoma Canfield ’s plight and after getting over my disgust at the flippant skew of their story,I decided to see just what kind of people Fox news is playing to. I was sure those commenting on the piece would be as appalled as I was after reading that article tripe because who wouldn’t be? This idea that she ‘may’ get financial help for the treatment and that somehow negates her ordeal was so outrageous that even the truly heartless, mindless,GOP sycophant must be taken aback.

Oh how I was wrong.

Before  we get to the truly ugly part of our society, the part that feeds on Fox News and GOP rhetoric..Remember where this started. Natoma wrote a letter to the President explaining her situation to him, she had had insurance and had paid it’s high premiums. She explained that last year she paid “$6075.24 in premiums, $2415.26 for medical care, $225 in co-pays and $1500 for prescriptions.” For all of this, her insurance company paid out a staggering $935 to her benefit. What a wonderful return she pays over $10,000 and the insurance gives her $935. I can’t imagine anyone looking at that and saying “A yup, seems right to me”.. but, they do.

When Anthem sent Natoma a letter letting her know that after being with this company for 11 years,  in 2010, her policy would be increased over 40% to $8496.24.

Natoma had to let the insurance go.

$8500 a year,  that’s over $700 a month… for health insurance. Is this normal and satisfactory to people? Are there a lot of us out there who could afford coverage for one person  for the great cost of $177 a week?

When did this become the normal part of American life, so normal that people across the country are not outrage just at that? $177 a week.. not for food,shelter,utilities.. but health insurance on one person? What she if had to cover a family of four?

That is where Fox picks up her story and where this blogs begins. Natoma said in her letter that she was afraid to think about where she would get the money to pay her bills now that she didn’t have healthcare. A perfectly reasonable fear, a fear that even people with insurance might have just because of the emotions  and costs involved. But to Foxnews and those who champion them, this is the pit of waste they decided to swim in. Instead of going after Anthem, they set their sights on Natoma’s fears.

Natoma Canfield, the cancer-stricken woman who has become a centerpiece of President Obama’s push for health care reform, will not lose her home over her medical bills and will probably qualify for financial aid, a top official at the Cleveland medical center treating her told FoxNews.com.

Sure, Natoma might qualify for aid… might. So there you go people, nothing to see here.. move along.

Of course  gold coins might fall out of her ears tomorrow too, but that doesn’t negate another in a long, long list of examples of an insurance company profiting on the health of Americans.

Natoma could possibly be healed by a local voodoo priest laying hands upon her, that doesn’t change the fact that insurance companies have gotten out of control when it comes to their profit margin.

If this ‘probability’ stopped there, then maybe it could be seen as a ‘feel good’ piece. Ya know, a “Thank God, she has one last thing to worry about in this time of need” maybe it would be ok. But it didn’t and as the comments show, it produced the exact feeling FoxNews hoped and always hopes to provoke in people. Of course “feeling” is a loose translation of the word as you’ll see.

Before that though, there seems to be this running theme everywhere of “Well they can just get medicaid” in one breath and “We don’t need government healthcare paid for by tax-payers” in the other.  A everyone has insurance because they can just use the ERrepetitiveness that somehow excuses the point of having to use the ER like a primary care doctor instead of a.. ya know.. emergency room. Here’s my question, who is paying for that cost when people who don’t have insurance use the ER?   Who do people think is paying for Medicaid ?  The Fairy-Medical-Mother? Do the people wiping drool off their chin from all their blathering about tax-payer government health care not understand that the medicaid they are telling Natoma to get is tax-payer paid for government healthcare?

I don’t think they do.

While we’re playing in the realm of pretend, what if she paid the extortion to her insurance company and they dropped her after she was diagnosed with leukemia? There is an equal, if not better, chance that  would have happened as there is a chance that she ‘might‘ or will ‘probably’ get medicaid or some kind of charity to pay her bill. Had she been dropped,  then what? Who cares because she could have gone on tax-payer government healthcare, but  as long as she doesn’t pay for her own government healthcare it’s ok?

The idea that anyone could say “Hey  you know what? I think you should pay out $10,000 a year, get $900 paid back and next year pay 40% more and get back less.. “ Is pretty much the stupidest thing I think I’ve ever heard. But it seems to be the common thread these days.  She is after all only a house-cleaner, it’s not like she own AIG or anything important like that.

The idea that anyone would champion a system  that says “Look, be happy.. after all those years of paying into this product and getting no return, now you can go on charity so quit your bitching” is not only the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard but probably the most callous. I can only hope that  Karma X3 finds the people saying this with some event that forces them to seek help from a ‘charity’. I just hope they don’t meet people like themselves at those charities who tell  them to go find help somewhere else. Or worse, tell them they’ve helped too many this month so maybe come back next month and see if they can get some help.

We’re the best country on the planet,  the only SuperPower, the beacon of all and the best we can do is.. “She might get charity to help pay for her illness and she probably won’t lose her house”?

As if that’s even a concern, after reading what the Foxnewies GOP sycophants  think.. she really deserves the loss of her home because she should have paid the insurance company their extortion fee and her mortgage and just stopped eating and watching TV, the lazy bitch.

How can she lose her house? I though Obama fixed the housing crisis, and nobody is losing their houses. I guess if she had paid her insurance bill and skipped her house payment, Obama would have her up on stage supporting his next housing bail out! This guy doesn’t miss a chance. Here’s quick fix Obama, you’ve got millions. You were able to raise 600 million for your campaign. Why don’t you lend her the money to pay her bills? This is getting crazy. She made a choice. She chose to pay her house payment. Millions of americans make choices every day. Does she have a TV? Does she have cable? Did she choose to buy those? It’s called responsibility and prioritizing. She has to choose between food and a house payment…does the government buy her groceries? She has to choose between clothes and a house payment…does the government buy her clothes? Where does it end? Why not let the government pay for everything. Food, water, shelter are all necessities. Like health care, can’t we find imaginary rights in the constitution to cover those things too!

That’s right, she made a choice folks. She should have paid her insurance instead of her mortgage and really.. she has a TV right? She chose to pay them, so there you go! She deserves everything she gets!  The stupid woman should learn to prioritize, doesn’t she know that the American Dream isn’t to grow up, work hard and buy a house. No! It’s grow up, work hard, pay your insurance even when they’re raping you.

It’s truly disgusting the level of bottom-feeder that the GOP and FoxNews has succeeding in producing. If that comment was the only one like it I would attribute it to a mutant strain of GOP, unfortunately… it’s not

macagcy

Sad story – but here are the facts. This lady could have increased her deductible and reduced her costs. We could be having a fund raiser to pay her $5,000.00 deductible – but no – the taxpayers will be paying the full boat. How can Anthem be the bad guy? What do you think her costs are projected to be? Do you think it would have been cheaper to pay the premium and have coverage or to pay no premiums and have no funds to pay for the care? Personal Responsibility.

How can that poor insurance company be at fault? All they did was continue to raise her rates to the point where she had to decide between them and her mortgage, shheesh.. it’s her fault for not just doubling her deductible, I mean she only paid out $10,000 in costs last year! Hello! Anthem gave her $900 worth coverage for it, what does she want.. more?

It’s gross isn’t it? I just wish that was it…

As a physician in a town of 75000, I can say that everyone gets treated, and nobody loses their home. Medical bills are the last things people pay. When someone is evaluating your credit, the very last thing they look at are medical bills

As a physician, I recommend we all just not pay our bills.. no one loses their house, no one cares that it’s on your credit and all those non-paid bills really have no affect on the system because the Fairy-Medical-Mother bibbity, bobbity, boos them away.

Are you out of your fucking mind? The solution to “paid for by everyone, shared by everyone’ Universal Health care is? We just don’t pay our bills when we incur them because it’s not like anyone has to pay for it anyway.

Fuck me! Someone shoot me if I get this stupid!

iamback: Do you not realize that a lot of people are going through the same thing? If you don’t pay for your health insurance, you don’t get health insurance. Many qualify for Medicaid. Everyone qualifies for private charity. Have you ever been to a benefit? That’s what benefits are for. Why do all Americans have to suffer for the plight of a few? There are other ways than allowing the Progressives to take over our lives. You only need a little bit of common sense to understand what this bill is all about and it doesn’t have ANYTHING to do with health care. Everyone gets treatment, whether they can afford it or not! That’s the fact that the government hopes to keep from people. Open your eyes and look around. There are not people dying in the streets in this country (yet). The madness needs to stop now.

That’s right, why do all Americans have to suffer for the plight of a few..

We don’t need to end slavery, why do all Americans have to suffer for the plight of a few?

We don’t need to desegregate, I mean why do all Americans have to suffer for the plight of a few?

We don’t need to let woman vote and have a right to equal and fair treatment, why do all Americans have to suffer for the plight of a few

There are other ways than following the Progressives like Franklin, Washington, Adams, or Jefferson! We’re Americans, why do we all have to suffer for a few? Jesus! Everyone gets treatment anyway, whether they have the money or not and the great Fairy-Medical-Mother pays for it!

It just keeps getting better doesn’t it?

Do you think if someone explained that the ‘charity’ and the ‘medicaid’ might only kick in when the disease has reached catastrophic levels  and had the person had coverage before it got that bad, it might have only cost the tax payers and charity houses a few hundred dollars instead of a few million, they’d understand?

Yeah, I don’t think so either.

While I sympathize with this lady, wouldn’t it have been easier if she just said she was in the uS illegally to get the care and not worrying about losing her house? Hmmm….maybe there is a problem.

Did you see the floozy that introduced him in Strongville? Not hard to see what kind of trash she is.

That floozy-trash was Natoma’s sister. John Boehner was right though, the GOP is doing everything they can to stop health reform.

I don’t know about you, but after reading the stirrings from the FoxNewies- GOP sycophants I feel unclean. More than that though, I feel frightened that one day a candidate that holds these peoples beliefs as his/her own could one day rule this country. God help us when that day comes.

Telepalmter-gate?

For $549 a plate, you’d think they could get the old girl some index cards.. I mean sure, she or any GOP member for that matter can’t ever use a teleprompter again after all of their mocking of  Obama’s admitted overuse of them, but are they  really back to 7th grade cheating?

HuffingtonPost

huffingtonpost

ok, here’s the thing… you can’t come out on stage and  one of the 1st things you do is mock the President’s  use of teleprompters  when you’ve got freaking crib-notes written on your hand..  a cheat sheet  for your one-on-one Q & A session. Not if your honest anyway.

We’re past hypocrisy when you do this kind of thing and well into ridiculous and petty!  Not that I mind ridiculous or petty,  it’s the mocking of your betters that bothers me. While I’m at it, what kind of ‘grass-root’ movement charges so much to get into their convention that only the elite of the cream of the crop can get into the convention. $549 a plate? In this economy? If it’s truly as Sarah put it, and not about the money, then why is she making $100,000 off the speech that would cost her ‘real American’ family of four $1400 to get in? That’s just to get in the door, that doesn’t include the flight to get there, or the gas to drive or food and lodging.

Do you think  she understands the irony of this ‘let them eat cake’ atmosphere she’s promoting while calling for another revolution?

Yeah,me either.

As for this idea that these people are the model of conservative? Is it that the Tea-party movement doesn’t care about the truth or that they don’t understand it? While Governor, Palin not only took that money for her bridge to nowhere but she forced oil companies to pay each resident of the state a stipend each year. Don’t get me wrong, I agree with this policy, but since my counter-part calls me a socialist, I would be in agreement with a socialist policy like taking money from private companies and spreading it to the populist. But can you really be a conservative when you take such huge amounts of money from the government  and from the private sector and spread it around to people who didn’t earn it?

If you’re Sarah Palin or a Tea-party member, the answer is yes.  It’s those other socialists and pork-spenders that they don’t like.. the ones with (D) after their name, the ones who elected a black man, the one who is a black man. Oh yeah, that’s something else we learned this weekend, finally the Tea-party movement declared their belief..

[Tom Tancredo]...former Colorado congressman told the first National Tea Party Convention in Nashville this weekend, where he lathered up the crowd with a speech that offered this reason for Obama’s election: “We do not have a civics, literacy test before people can vote in this country.”

Obama was elected, Tancredo said, because of “people who could not even spell the word ‘vote’ or say it in English.”

That’s right, we don’t have literacy tests anymore..you know the tests that kept blacks from voting. But hey, this is a good thing, there is no reason to hide behind a hood anymore Tancredo has de-robed the party and frankly I’m happy for them. think about it, it must be difficult to hide behind your hate that way for fear that if you let it out, people will know you really are racist. From the sounds of the cheers and applause, those waiting for Sarah Palin and listening to Tancredo are also glad to finally drop their mask!

I guess it’s just part and parcel of what we have to look forward to, an entire section of the country who believe Palin is more equipped to run this country over the likes of not just President Obama, but Hilary Clinton and *gasp* John McCain.  I guess as long as she has her cheat-sheet written on the palm of her hand, we’ll be safe when Putin ‘rears his head’.

What do you think the Tea-party group will do when they realize that  she is not like them and she is taking money out of their childrens mouths to not be like them?  It is about the money and fame for her, if it wasn’t she would have donated the money she ‘laundered’ through her PAC back to the Tea-Party cause.  How much more proof do you need in order to believe  she’s as phony as a $3 bill and as sincere as a prostitute. People, she used the money donated to her PAC to buy her own books. On the face of it that’s not to horrible, but when you look at how she received royalties for all those bought and paid for books.. you wonder which mob-boss taught her how to launder money so well. This isn’t the liberal media coming after her for taking donations to the RNC and using it to buy clothes for her and her family, this is a pretty shitty deal she’s pulling on her donors. It’s no wonder some Tea-party member were worried about ‘profiteering’ and the ’scammy’ feeling they were getting from this convention Sarah was headlining. These people are out of work and hurting, her answer is to use their much needed money to buy her book and since she can’t just out right keep their donations,  this is the 2nd best thing.

I feel bad for the real  tea-party member who was sucked into this abyss. I do believe there are people out there who really do want less government spending and intrusion. I believe that for the 1st time in their lives, after mocking the ‘left’ for all of the grass-root protesting, they finally got up their own moxie and listened to the hoopla Foxnews was spewing to  them and backed the party that they thought was the real deal. These people are about to be disillusion more than they ever were before and for them I am sorry. I only hope they wise up to the scammy-ness of where their party is going. I know these people don’t like the ‘Harvard educated’ elite, and the idea of a Nobel being awarded to a President is akin to treason,  but is this really the person you want at the next G8  summit?

HuffingtonPost asks 2 great questions on this cheating issue..

This would mean:

A) That she knew the questions beforehand and the whole thing was a farce. (Likely.)

and

B) That she still couldn’t answer the previously agreed-upon questions without a little extra help.

I don’t know, but I don’t like either answer. One proves she’s a hack and not only does she and the promoters of the convention know it but they’re doing everything in their power to make you sure never find out, and the other proves she’s an idiot. Regardless of the spin, neither prove she’s capable of commenting on politics, much less running a country.

At the end of the day the ‘true believers’ will not believe even what their eyes show them and their ears tell them. Ironically it was not us Obama-phytes who drank the koolaid, it is the Palin/Tea Party supporters.  Obama-phytes didn’t believe he was a bastard son who was really born in Africa, because we didn’t we were called pod-people, I should know, I called them that.  But anyone who says Sarah Palin is a real Conservative, is really smart, is really capable of running this country over the likes of even John McCain..stay away from them because that is your pod-person. That is the Jim Jones follower and like those poor souls, these are just as dangerous. They will do everything in their power to elect this woman to the Presidency of the United States even if it’s forcing her poison down throats of every “real” American and real conservative in this country. I don’t believe all members of the Tea-party movement are as race-hating as those who Sarah Palin read her hand to, but if the ones who aren’t don’t stand up and renounce her and this kind of call for the good old days of Jim Crow, they might as well be.

Then they’ll take their country back from their “Obama Problem”! coup, coup, ca choo…

written by ekg

Well hey, when the website that John Stossel formally of ABC, and coming to Fox news blogs for calls for the military to take care of “the Obama problem” with a “bloodless coup” and install “an interim government“… or have a kind of ‘family intervention’ and then run the government with a “form of limited, shared responsibility”….and the only thing the right can say is that President OBama shouldn’t have gone to Copenhagen for 18 hours,  things may be spiraling out of Rights control.

There is a remote, although gaining, possibility America’s military will intervene as a last resort to resolve the “Obama problem.” Don’t dismiss it as unrealistic.
America isn’t the Third World. If a military coup does occur here it will be civilized. That it has never happened doesn’t mean it wont. Describing what may be afoot is not to advocate it.

[...]
Will the day come when patriotic general and flag officers sit down with the president, or with those who control him, and work out the national equivalent of a “family intervention,” with some form of limited, shared responsibility?
Imagine a bloodless coup to restore and defend the Constitution through an interim administration that would do the serious business of governing and defending the nation. Skilled, military-trained, nation-builders would replace accountability-challenged, radical-left commissars. Having bonded with his twin teleprompters, the president would be detailed for ceremonial speech-making.
Military intervention is what Obama’s exponentially accelerating agenda for “fundamental change” toward a Marxist state is inviting upon America. A coup is not an ideal option, but Obama’s radical ideal is not acceptable or reversible.
Unthinkable? Then think up an alternative, non-violent solution to the Obama problem. Just don’t shrug and say, “We can always worry about that later.”
In the 2008 election, that was the wistful, self-indulgent, indifferent reliance on abnegation of personal responsibility that has sunk the nation into this morass

Of course newsmax removed the piece and pretended like it never happened…and they pretended that the author was just some random blogger.

The columnist, John L. Perry,“has no official relationship with Newsmax other than as an unpaid blogger

But that’s not exactly true, especially when you read his Bio Newsmax.com wrote about Perry , where he wasn’t just  a former senior editor for the site, but was also described as

an “award-winning newspaper editor and writer” who “contributes a regular column to Newsmax.com.”

But this sounds exactly like what some people are hoping for..

The coup — which would be “civilized” and “bloodless,” according to Perry — would consist of a “patriotic general” sitting down with the President and working out a new system in which “skilled, military-trained, nation-builders” would “do the serious business of governing and defending the nation” while Obama would still be allowed to make speeches..

yes, it’s the evil of Obama..Who is not an American, but who is in fact an African with his, fascist, socialist, communist, Marxist march(yes, I know)  should be stopped with a military coup that installs the same overthrowing military  in charge  of the serious business over governing this country and that is the right path to restore this to the country that so many lost on November 4, 2008.

A coup is not an ideal option, but Obama’s radical ideal is not acceptable or reversible.

Don’t be fooled..There is a need to get rid of this problem ..

“Unthinkable?” Perry asked. “Then think up an alternative, non-violent solution to the Obama problem. Just don’t shrug and say, ‘We can always worry about that later.’”

For more and the full text of Perry’s NewsMax column.

I wonder if that did anything to the results of that facebook poll, you know the one on whether the president should live or not..  the choices of that one  didn’t have anything to do with Afghanistan or Iraq or the Olympics, just healthcare..

The question, “Should Obama be killed?” had received 730 responses since its posting on Saturday. The four possible answers: Yes. Maybe. If he cuts my healthcare. No.

What’s unfortunate here is we know people are paying attention to this kind of bullshit, all you have to do is look at what Michelle Bachman had to say about the evil census workers President Obama is hiring to round GOP’ers up and ‘intern’ them, and then read the brutal story out of Kentucky

(CBS/AP)  It was a bizarre and gruesome discovery in a remote section of eastern Kentucky: Bill Sparkman, a 51-year-old teacher and part-time worker for the United States Census, was found two weeks ago hanging from a tree with the word “Fed” scrawled on his chest in felt tip pen.

A man who said he was among those who found the body told tells the Associated Press that Sparkman was naked, bound at the hands and feet with duct tape and gagged – details that have not yet been confirmed by authorities.

Jerry Weaver of Ohio told the Associated Press he was visiting a cemetery in rural Kentucky with family members on Sept. 12 when he, his wife and daughter saw the body.

“The only thing he had on was a pair of socks,” Weaver said. “And they had duct-taped his hands, his wrists. He had duct tape over his eyes, and they gagged him with a red rag or something

[...}

"And they even had duct tape around his neck," Weaver said. "And they had like his identification tag on his neck. They had it duct-taped to the side of his neck, on the right side, almost on his right shoulder."

Both of the people briefed on the investigation confirmed that Sparkman's Census Bureau ID was found taped to his head and shoulder area. Weaver said he couldn't tell if the tag was a Census ID because he didn't get close enough to read it. He could see writing on Sparkman's chest, but could not read that it said "fed."

It is probably just a coincidence this happened on Glen Beck's 9/12 protest day...But what if it isn't?  What if a poll, 2 crazy talk show host crying to millions every night and millions more for hours everyday about how this President is taking their country, a crazier congresswoman who envisions this President's interment camps for Republicans and finally this article from a popular Right-Wing rag actually convinces someone to act, whether that someone is a general leading the military as Perry seems to yearn for, or tea-bagger inspired by Beck..Would those in the GOP who should be speaking out loudly against this finally say something to the fringe they have left to take over their party because that fringe is working to help them with their "Obama Problem"? I seriously doubt it, like Michelle Bachman, they will just cringe and jump into their limo if ever confronted with what they created.

I am remind of some words that were spoken once.. of course they were spoken against anyone voicing any dissent against the President at the time, but I think those words apply to what is going on now.. I know that I will surely lump the silent ones altogether if the pleas of these right wing speakers is answered..

"But all nations, if they want to fight terror, must do something."

"You're either with us or against us in the fight against terror."-GWB November 6, 2001

How very apropos.. You are either with us in this fight against smears, lies, inciting of riots, assignations and military overthrow and occupation.. or you are with them.  Staying silent is no longer an option, it has gone too far to ignore any longer. Who will be the first from across the aisle to step up and end this?

My reply to lil mike

written by ekg

ekg here…what you’re about to read is  what lil Mike and I do, this is where we are in our comfort zone and where we excel. It’s long, it’s tedious, but the final result is an all out information explosive.. We have done this kind of exchange for years on muchedumbre.com. When we started ‘blogging’, we forgot that which made us great… the quote/reply debate, because it’s hard to get into that sort of debate in a ‘blog-comment’ section..

well, not anymore…

Here is my rebuttal to Lil Mike’s

Public Option? -> Only Option

Feel free to join in the debate in the comment sections.

..

” But one thing is clear, if it’s going to be reform in any way that Obama and the far left of the Democratic Party care about, it’s got to have the “Public Option.”  Right now the administration is having it both ways.  On the one hand it’s saying that it has no intention of driving private insurers out of business, but on the other hand, reassuring Congressional Democrats that the President is still committed to having a public option as part of his vision of health care reform.

Why the Public Option?  The formal answer was included in Obama’s letter to Senators Kennedy and Baucus:

“I strongly believe that Americans should have the choice of a public health insurance option operating alongside private plans. This will give them a better range of choices, make the health care market more competitive, and keep insurance companies honest.”

Competition?  There are approximately 1300 health insurance providers in the US.  Really, will 1301 really make the difference and suddenly lead to “a better range of choices, make the health care market more competitive, and keep insurance companies honest?”  That’s all it would take, just one more provider?  The idea is so ridiculous that you would have to be a White House journalist to buy it.”

Ok, will one more provider really make a difference? Absofuckinglutley!  Yes, 1300 companies offering the same shitty product would actually have to offer a better option if a bigger and better player came on to the scene. Your debate isn’t whether the Government can offer a product that will make the other companies provide a better choice, your argument is… Should the Government offer that product at all.. So let’s not play games with throwing in all this other stuff..

“What makes the public option the crown jewel of any health care reform plan?  It’s the camel’s nose under the tent for single payer government healthcare.  No, this isn’t just Republican scare-mongering.  I can hardly imagine any other conclusion for the insistence on a government healthcare plan.  And it’s easy to see how it would happen.  The logic is this:  One of the keys of health care reform is an individual mandate, but you can’t very well have one if people cannot afford to buy health insurance, so you have to provide an option for people too poor to pay.  Enter the public option.  An analysis of several public option scenarios shows that premiums could be 30 to 40 percent less than comparable private plans.  That of course hinges on the government paying reimbursement rates comparable to Medicare, which are 70-80 percent of what private insurers pay.”

I read your Lewin Group PDF analysis it was interesting.. until I Googled them and found out that..

Lewin Group is) part of Ingenix, which is owned by United Healthcare Group, the insurance behemoth that has been buying up insurance companies left and right, expanding its reach into just about every segment of the health-insurance market. Its flagship, UnitedHealthcare, helps make it the largest health insurer in the country. It’s a safe bet that United is not too keen on a public plan that might shrink its business.

Now I don’t find them credible in this discussion..Sorry about that but seriously, you wouldn’t allow me to use Rahm’s notes as actual unbiased data would you?But let’s address this ‘fear-mongering’ warpath scream of “Single Payer Healthcare-Oh My”..  Why is it that every time a Democrat tries to do anything you Pub’s start screaming ‘Government take-over!” “Government Control” “States Right!” and“Give me Liberty” , when after 8 years of massive Government abuse, Lenin-ish intrustion, insane Government spending,  and obscene Government entitlements there was nothing but the sound-bite of “If you’re not with the President, you are with the terrorists” to anyone who raised a fart of a question?

But now, Oh My God! We’re killing health care…!! We’re taxing people too much..!! Businesses will crumble..!!

really?

Did you know that Bush’s medicare proposal was…

…aimed to inject market forces into Medicare by encouraging beneficiaries to enroll in government-subsidized private health plans that would compete directly with the traditional government-run, fee-for-service program. The drug benefit would be the chief inducement for seniors to make the switch to private plans.

Maybe I missed it, but were there Fox News sponsored Tea-parties for that?

Something else I just found out (by the way, this is why Mike and I do this so well… during our hunt for facts we often find other facts that come in handy in other debates) “The Patriot Act and Department of Homeland Security was the brainchild of one William Jefferson Clinton.” Sure the website is a little nutty and over the top in it’s ‘doomsday’ opinions, and in all seriousness I shouldn’t link it because you will use it against me, but what the hell.. it pretty much spells out everything I’m saying about what the Pubs were happy to do with a Pub leader and shit themselves when it’s a Democrat doing the same thing. Best of all, it does it with the same chicken-little hyperbole you guys are using now..

In short, Bush’s encouragement to beneficiaries to enroll out of their private plans and into the government plan didn’t bring about “Single-Payer Storm troopers” and neither will President Obama’s. But if… if it did, once again you can thank Bush for that ummm…camel nose under the tent… since he started the ball rolling… ;)

Of course I loathe the ‘It’s Bush’s fault” argument.. It was fun for a few years there, but now it’s just old, crusty and only garners a slight roll of the eyes… The problem is, there are just so many fucking things that are his fault and you Pubs are just now finding that out because Obama is following in his footsteps on alot of them. So as loathsome as it is to say.. it’s still applicable.

Moving on…

“So one of the ways the Obama plan controls costs is just by paying the doctors and hospitals less.  I’m sure that will make a great incentive for people to go into the medical field.  And who wouldn’t want to be taxed to subsidize their competitor?”

President Obama will pay doctors less and therefore who would ever go into the med field.. An addendum to this argument is the.. “we will become a 3rd world health care system because there will be no incentives (money) for research”… OK 1st, we already are below many 3rd world countries when it comes to our health care and as for the rest? Well,  I can think of one disease that if it wasn’t for the French, not only would we still be calling it GRID, who knows when someone would have been able to isolate the AIDS retrovirus. Hell, it was a German who discovered that HPV was the leading cause in cervical cancer…

As for being paid less? When did we lose that ‘country doctor’ mentality of people becoming a doctor to help people? Was it around the same time insurance companies first started popping up? I’d really love to see a study on the correlation of the emergence of insurance companies and their control and doctors treating people less because it’s what they dream of doing and more to try and become a million by the time they are 30.

In short, I don’t know what President Obama’s plans on the pay scale for doctors and hospitals is. I know that right now we spend more money on administration costs than just about anything else. Medicare proves that you only need to spend 2% on admin costs and still function admirably.. $230 billion a year is spent in California alone on administration costs, Obama’s plan cost less than 1/2 that for the entire country.. so why those  massive saving would not trickle down throughout the system is beyond me.  To me, it would seem that if $25 from every $100 doctor visit that went to insurance administration now, was cut to $2, the doctor would be seeing a hell of alot better of a return.

“First, the same analysis shows that depending on the premium rate for the public option, 119 million people could lose their private health insurance…If the public plan has lower premiums, what do they care what rate their doctor gets paid at?  Others would find themselves dumped.  Why would companies want the expense of maintaining their own health insurance coverage when a public plan can offer lower premiums?”

I addressed this somewhat above when I brought Bush’s plan to get people off the private rolls and onto the public ones  to your attention already, but that’s not my argument against it, a bad plan is a bad plan no matter who the President is, something the Republican  religion doesn’t like to admit..My argument is this… I believe you are wrong.. those insurance companies will be forced to compete with the new plan.. they will have to offer something else, whether it be a lower premium or more coverage or an annual trip to Bermuda..whatever.. I mean do you seriously think they’ll just keel over and die? Hell no, they’ll find something that their competitor doesn’t have and offer it..

Back in the 90’s I was fired for being pregnant, lost my insurance(not that I had prenatal anyway), and was forced to go on Medicaid. HMO’s were exploding at that time and you were forced to pick either an HMO or straight medicaid. There was many HMO’s to chose from  and they all pretty much offered the same plans as each other and medicaid but since there was competition, the HMO’s decided to offer other incentives to get people to enroll in their plan. It was piddly shit like  children vitamins each month with this one, free contacts with that one, free vitamins, contacts and bubble gum with the other..(ok, not really on the bubble gum.. but you get the point).. the catch was you had to use their doctors, their hospitals and their pharmacies. Or you could stick with medicaid and go with pretty much whoever you wanted. I liked my doctor and she took medicaid so I chose that path. So when you tell me that a government sponsored plan will not only force people out of their private plan but will force private plans to close up shop and move away.. I laugh! These companies want to succeed today just as much as they want to succeed tomorrow and they will find a way to entice employers to keep paying them.. Whether that be free vitamins or a free trip to Bora-Bora for the employer who signs up the most employees onto their plan. Most, if not all, will adapt and  survive… and those that don’t? Well, you don’t mind when they fall in a full capitalistic society do you?

So why is a Public plan the only option? Because without it there is no change.. With it there is a crack in the monopoly-like hold insurance companies have on this country and it’s leaders. They have never had to worry about regulation and competition before and now they are throwing out all the buzz words that make  conservative hard.. “Socialism”..”Government sponsored”..”Government entitlement”… and to that I say Pshaw! Look what the debate has already done for health care… before a person was actually denied  treatment for her cancer because her insurance company said an outbreak of pimples in her past constituted a ‘pre-existing conditions’.Pimples!  But now all of a sudden insurance companies are screaming that sure,  they can get rid of the pre-existing conditions clause. The debate alone is forcing other companies to offer more benefits at a lower cost to women in some states.. The debate alone is changing health care for the better.. If the debate is cleaning up health care and the conglomerate-do-as-they-please  hold on health care that the insurance companies have.. then I am encouraged as to what an actual Public Plan will be able to do.

So, the cost factor? One state already pays 1 and 1/2 times more for just the administrative costs than the public plan for an entire country.

The reduction of doctor’s fee and hospital costs? The savings from the decrease in administration costs should increase what the medical providers see.

The loss of research and cutting edge medicine? You walk into the  Pasteur Institute and tell them they’re a 2nd tier institute.

Socialism? Please.. George Socialist Bush!

The loss of a free market? No, more like the opening of a closed market and forcing it to become competitive to survive..

Yes… Public Option? is the only Option

Public Option? -> Only Option

written by lil mike

It’s difficult to figure out amidst all of the swirling mess that makes up “health care reform” just what exactly is getting reformed.  President Obama learned the lesson of the Hillarycare debacle and has been pretty cagey on specifics, even when he is expecting to sign a bill on it by the end of the summer.  Of course, Hillarycare was a full blown plan that could be analyzed and picked apart.  Obama is not interested in having the same result so the few real details that have been leaked have been rather limited.  Of course, with this Congress, who needs details?  They’re more than willing to vote for a bill unread and fresh off the presses.  After all, as Congressperson Malibu Stacy might say, “Thinking too much gives you wrinkles.”

But one thing is clear, if it’s going to be reform in any way that Obama and the far left of the Democratic Party care about, it’s got to have the “Public Option.”  Right now the administration is having it both ways.

The idea is so ridiculous that you would have to be a White House journalist to buy it.

What makes the public option the crown jewel of any health care reform plan? That of course hinges on the government paying reimbursement rates comparable to Medicare, which are 70-80 percent of what private insurers pay.

So one of the ways the Obama plan controls costs is just by paying the doctors and hospitals less.  I’m sure that will make a great incentive for people to go into the medical field.  And who wouldn’t want to be taxed to subsidize their competitor?

But that’s not the fiscal time bomb.  First, the same analysis shows that depending on the premium rate for the public option, 119 million people could lose their private health insurance.  Some of course, would voluntarily flee.  If the public plan has lower premiums, what do they care what rate their doctor gets paid at?  Others would find themselves dumped.  Why would companies want the expense of maintaining their own health insurance coverage when a public plan can offer lower premiums?  Private plans of course have to have doctors and facilities join their networks voluntarily. Not an issue for the government.

Another issue is that the Obama administration, in order to help finance their reform schemes, wants to make it more difficult for employers and employees to pay for health care benefits.  One plan is to tax the employee health care benefits by capping the employee health care exclusion.  That excludes company health care benefits from an employee’s taxable income.  Another actually violates one of Obama’s campaign promises, not to tax health care benefits.  Obama criticized John McCain’s plan to tax employer health care benefits during the campaign, but at least McCain was going to transfer the tax benefit to individuals to enable them to purchase health insurance with a tax credit.  Obama is just keeping the money for the federal trough.

Driving Private health insurance out of the market has happened before.  TennCare was supposed to be Tennessee’s version of “the public option.”  The goal was to reduce health care costs by covering a larger group of lower income people than were normally covered by Medicaid guidelines.  Many features of TennCare mirrored some of the Obama health reform proposals.  The few remaining insurance companies have dumped their most expensive members onto the public plan, and the cost has far exceeded projections.  Closed hospitals, doctors fleeing the state, uncontrolled spiraling cost… that’s our future.

It’s fairly easy to see how this will play out if we get the public option.  First it will cover a few of the lower middle class, and then the taxes on both employers and employees will push some companies that are in marginal fiscal health (a rather large number since we are in a recession) to drop their plans.  Eventually, it will make no sense to provide a health insurance benefit when it no longer provides any tax benefit to the company or to the employee.  As the companies in Tennessee discovered, it was easier and less hassle to pay the extra penalty tax for not providing health insurance to it’s employees.  Eventually, a health insurance benefit will be as uncommon for the average American worker as a defined benefit pension plan now is.  The government will end up with the healthcare costs of most of the American workforce.

At that point, the rationing will begin, but that’s another story.

What I can’t figure out, is why the government would want to take up an open ended financial liability that it does not currently have, to provide a service that is currently being provided by the free market, and in doing so destroy large segments of the economy that is now providing that service?  Anyone?   Bueller?  If there is a better reason than just runaway statism that wants to make dependent charges of its citizens, I would love to hear it.

Now does President Obama know what he’s doing, or does he sincerely not see how his plans would destroy the private insurance market?  He gave a little clue during his June press conference on health care.  When asked by ABC’s Jake Tapper how he could guarantee that cheaper public plans wouldn’t drive out employer funded private care.

“When I say if you have your plan and you like it,…or you have a doctor and you like your doctor, that you don’t have to change plans, what I’m saying is the government is not going to make you change plans under health reform…”

That’s a change from earlier comments on the same issue:

“If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor, period. If you like your health care plan, you’ll be able to keep your health care plan, period. No one will take it away, no matter what.”

OK now I guess you can lose your health plan.  Period.

At that point, I wouldn’t have been surprised if President Obama had turned to the camera and winked.
